Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your first session — from booking to aftercare.
First-Time Clients
Wear whatever is comfortable. Most clients undress to their comfort level and are draped with a sheet throughout the session. For movement coaching sessions, wear athletic clothing you can move freely in.
If you’re dealing with chronic pain, tension, stiffness, or recovering from an injury, start with a sports massage or deep tissue session. If you have recurring movement issues — pain in your feet, knees, hips, or back that keeps coming back despite treatment — movement coaching may address the root cause.
Not sure? Call or text Justin and he’ll recommend the best starting point based on your situation.
That’s completely fine. Justin works with first-time clients regularly. He’ll walk you through the entire process before starting, check in on pressure throughout the session, and answer any questions. There’s no expectation that you know anything going in.
Sports massage is a comprehensive approach using multiple modalities — deep tissue, myofascial release, cupping, blading, hot stones, and lymphatic drainage — tailored for athletic performance and recovery. Deep tissue massage specifically targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to release chronic tension and adhesions.
Movement coaching assesses your gait, posture, and movement patterns to identify and correct inefficiencies that cause recurring pain or limit performance. Many clients benefit from a combination of these services.
Booking & Scheduling
Call or text Justin directly at (951) 310-2790, or email coachjustinss@gmail.com. He typically responds within a few hours and can often accommodate same-day or next-day appointments.
A few days in advance is ideal, but same-day availability is often possible depending on the schedule. For recurring appointments, Justin can set up a standing weekly or bi-weekly slot.
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Life happens — just communicate as early as possible so the time slot can be offered to another client.
Justin serves the entire Inland Empire and Orange County areas. All sessions are mobile and in-home — he comes to you. There are no travel fees within the service area.
Pricing & Payment
Insurance is not accepted at this time. However, many clients use HSA or FSA cards to pay for massage therapy. Check with your provider to see if massage is covered under your plan.
Zelle, Venmo, cash, and check. Payment is collected at the time of the session.
Contact Justin directly to discuss pricing for recurring sessions or multi-session packages. Rates may vary based on frequency and commitment.
During Your Session
Everything needed for a full professional session — massage table, clean sheets, oils, lotions, and any specialized tools like cups or IASTM instruments. You don’t need to provide anything.
A space roughly 8 feet by 6 feet with enough room to walk around the table. A living room, garage, or spare bedroom typically works well. Justin can set up on most surfaces.
Absolutely. Communication is a key part of every session. Justin checks in regularly and adjusts pressure based on your feedback and how your tissue is responding. Never hesitate to speak up.
After Your Session
Drink plenty of water, avoid intense exercise for 24 hours, and take it easy for the rest of the day if possible. Some soreness is normal after deep tissue work — similar to post-workout soreness — and typically resolves within 24–48 hours. Justin provides specific aftercare guidance at the end of each session.
Most clients feel significantly better — looser, more mobile, and with reduced pain. After deep tissue or intense sessions, mild soreness is normal for 24–48 hours as your body processes the work. This is a sign the treatment is working. Hydration helps speed recovery.
Light activity is fine the same day. For intense deep tissue sessions, it’s best to wait 24 hours before heavy training. Justin will give you specific guidance based on the type of work done during your session.
